This 1957 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup has been with the current owner since 2017 and was restored by the previous owner. Power is provided by a 283ci V8 which is backed by a three-on-the-tree manual transmission. In 2013 nearly $7k was spent on a major service that included a transmission overhaul, new clutch and flywheel, re-balanced drive shaft, steering box overhaul, oil change, updated heater, and more as detailed below. 1957 was the only year for the larger grille, and it is accompanied by a flatter hood that is similar to the Bel Air from that year. This example is sold with records since 2012 and a German TÜV registration, Historic plates, the original Maryland title & license plates.
The restoration is believed to have been completed shortly before the previous owner’s purchase in 2012. The body was stripped and repainted in the present finish, which is detailed in the gallery along with the trim. Color-matched steel wheels have been fitted with BF Goodrich Silvertown wide whitewalls.
The painted inner bed sides show well in the provided images, and the wood slats on the bed floor also appear to be in nice condition.
The gauge cluster features new temperature and fuel gauges, which are accompanied by new wiring for all gauges. The body-colored dash shows well, and the factory radio is paired with new speakers.
Newer black upholstery appears to be in good shape with good surfacing. The functioning odometer was reset during the restoration and now shows 1,800 miles (2.800km).
The 283ci V8 is paired to a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission and has been converted to electronic ignition by the previous owner. Records are limited to his ownership and include a $6,800 major service in December 2013 that included items such as:
New fuel sending unit
New temperature sending unit
New clutch and flywheel
Re-balanced drive shaft
Transmission overhaul
Steering box overhaul
Differential servicing
New rear shock absorbers
Additional work commissioned by the previous owner included the replacement of the heater box and adjustment of the heater valve, along with the installation of a new dual exhaust, oil change, spark plugs, spark plug wires and distributor.
Images of the underside highlight the bottom of the wood bed, the refreshed suspension, and the new exhaust.
The video provided by the selling dealer offers a brief walkaround of the truck at idle.
