This 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV was refurbished at a prior owner’s Quebec-based GM dealership in the late 1990s through the early 2000s. Cosmetic work included a color change from metallic blue to red, as well as new upholstery and metal repairs in the trunk, rocker panels, and the floor pan. Power comes from a 2.0-liter twin-cam four that was rebuilt at the same time and fitted with dual Webers. The car is freshly imported from Quebec to France and is now up for sale with all European import duties paid and a clean Quebec title.
The car was originally finished in a metallic blue and was repainted in the current red during the cosmetic refresh. The finish is said to show a number of flaws, including bubbling and dents, with additional photos provided in the gallery.
Rust repairs were made to the trunk area, floor pans, and rocker panels during the refurbishment, and the seller notes that some corrosion is still present on the undercarriage. A set of Momo Vega wheels are mounted with Starfire Flite-Line IV tires.
The interior was reportedly reupholstered during the past cosmetic updates, with some wear present on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat. The seller believes the headliner to be original.
The dash is trimmed in wood, and a matching wood-rimmed steering wheel is present. A period Blaupunkt radio can be seen in the center of the dash but is currently non-functional. Jaeger gauges are equipped, the speedometer is not currently functional, and 68,701 miles are shown, though true mileage is unknown. Gallery images detail the wood finish, steering wheel, and various switches.
The 2.0-liter twin-cam four is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission and was rebuilt in the late 1990s. It received new crankshaft, con rod, and camshaft bearings, as well as new piston rings, water pump, oil pump, and valves. The head was rebuilt, and a new clutch and alternator were also fitted. Additionally, the SPICA fuel injection was removed and replaced with twin side-draft Weber carburetors.
The selling dealer replaced the clutch master, slave cylinders, brake calipers, and brake master cylinder approximately two years ago. Some corrosion is noted on the undercarriage, and the parking brake is currently non-functional.
Assorted records from the previous owner are included in the sale and shown in the gallery, mainly detailing the engine rebuild and related work. Documents include the time sheets and names of the mechanics who worked on the car.
