This 1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Series III Aero 2 is finished in Blu Medio (AR370) over black vinyl and is powered by a 1.6-liter twin-cam inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, a black soft top, a rear spoiler and radio.
Refurbishment work done in 2017 included a repaint in original color, new soft top, new radiator, brake pads, rear differential joints, spark plugs, engine cleaning & fresh tune up of the dual carburetors. This Spider Series III is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records, Italian registration & ASI Homologation.
The Pininfarina-designed body is repainted in 2017 in original Blu Medio (AR370) and features a new black soft top. Other exterior features include a rear spoiler and chrome window trim and door handles. Additional photos showing the condition of the exterior are provided in the gallery below.
14″ steel wheels are wrapped with original Pirelli P4000 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The cockpit features original black leather bucket seats with a matching dashboard, center console, door panels and carpets. A wooden three-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation including a 220-kph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 63k kilometers.
The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four features dual Weber Carburetors and was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 142Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. Service completed prior to the sale includes a complete mechanical recondition with engine cleaning, complete tune up, new exhaust system, brake pads, radiator, rubber tubes and spark plugs.
