This 2001 Renault Sport Clio V6 is a Phase I example that was sold new in Japan and imported to Belgium by the seller 5 years ago. The car is based on the FWD Renault Clio and features a reworked chassis to accommodate the uprated V6 mounted behind the front seats. Produced between 2001-2003, Phase 1 models were built by Tom Walkinshaw Racing. Now showing 64,062 kilometers, this example is powered by a 3.0-liter DOHC V6 that sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Modifications include an aftermarket exhaust, radio, and hood pins, and this Clio V6 is now being sold with Japanese documentation and Belgian Registration.
Styling qualities unique to the Clio V6 include widened fenders, side scoops, and a center exhaust routed through the rear fascia. The silver paintwork is believed original, with noted blemishes including some paint cracks on the fiberglass hood and replacement headlamp that is not as clear as the other one.
Hood pins have been added and are shown up close in the gallery. Driven just 2.000km by the seller since taking ownership, the car is described as fun to drive, with tight handling and good power.
Inside, the sport seats show some wear along their bolsters, and a split in the upper portion of the driver’s seat back is shown in the gallery below. An aftermarket shift knob and stereo have been added, and all instruments, controls, and electric accessories are said to function. The digital odometer indicates 64,062 kilometers.
Positioned aft of the front seats, the 3.0-liter ES9J4 V6 was sourced from the joint Peugeot-Citroën PSA group and reworked from the factory to produce nearly 227 horsepower when new. The engine is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and has been fitted with an aftermarket exhaust. Records are said to date back to new and include the most recent service, which involved a fluid change and new tires added by the seller.
Walk-around and acceleration videos can be seen below.
Several photos of the underside are shown in the gallery.
Included in the sale are the original books and manuals, along with service records and importation documents. Four spare coils and a spare O2 sensor are also included.
